Proposed redevelopment of an underutilized mid-block lot amidst Portland's collection of turn-of-the-century cast iron buildings. Envisioned as a contemporary take on neoclassical and revivalist architecture, this new seven-story hotel would feature unhindered views of both Mt. Hood and the rest of downtown. The project is designed as a mass timber structure with both traditional heavy timber and modern Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) elements. The timber frame will be adorned with a playful arrangement of dark brick punctuated with vertical windows and bronze filigree.
