The design of a new facade in the Hillsdale neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. The residence is a somewhat suburban modern 1960's 2 story. The owners could appreciate the potential of the style of their home, but felt it needed a little update. A vertical wood screen is juxtaposed with an 'off the shelf' glass and aluminum handrail to create a lighter syncopated rhythm dubbed over the heavy bass of the existing home.
